A 13-year-old boy allegedly raped an underage girl and fled his makeshift house in KG Halli area.
The police have launched a manhunt for the boy and booked him under the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
The families of the boy and the girl, hailing from Adoni in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, moved to Bengaluru a few months ago seeking employment. The heads of families were employed as construction labourers and staying at makeshift sheds at Ramdev Gardens, the police said.
The boy and the girl were neighbours. About two weeks ago, the boy took the girl to a desolate area and raped her, the KG Halli police said.
Altercation
The fathers of the boy and the girl were having an altercation. A few local residents noticed it. The girl’s father was heard alleging that his daughter was raped by his neighbour’s son.
The resident called the police who rushed to the spot and took the men into custody. Later, the police registered a case based on a complaint.
