It was a delightful Sunday for the Bengaluru gamers. The City saw its first-ever video game fest hosted by the cross-platform game developers Dumandu, in association with Microsoft. Thirty games, 300 developers and around 12,000 participants...all gathered in the Elaan Convention Hall to experience the gaming extravaganza.

The convention centre was all set to take on the battles between the intense gamers. DOTA 2, Call OF Duty (Advanced warfare), FIFA 15, Asura, Monster Truck Unleashed were among the 30 games that were showcased in the fest.

The participants lined in huge numbers and chose from the variety of platforms including mobile gaming, PCs, consoles and stimulators.

This platform introduced the initial game developers to its end users.
“This is a great platform for the budding developers. I have come all the way from Kolkata as this event gives small game developers like us a room of opportunity. We get in touch with the gamers and create a user experience. It is a blessing in disguise for us,” says Abhishek, from Geek Monkey Studio, an android game developer.

With console partners like  Xbox quality to LXG and Gamineasy, the Bengaluru gamers had a notched up experience. The fest hosted educational video games for the preschoolers. From young ones to working professionals, all experienced a gaming high and looked forward to more such events.

“This is a complete new experience. I am taking part in the Advanced Warfare which is the best game of all. It is the first time that this kind of fest is happening in Bengaluru and I look forward to more such events taking place in the City,” says the excited gamer Nithin from Kensri College.

The first-ever gaming festival was indeed a huge success. Sharing his excitement Narasimha Reddy, Founder and CEO, Dumadu Games, said, “The success of our event is reflected in the fantastic response we received from participants, gaming developers and the industry stalwarts for the first edition of Video Game Fest. Our attempt to host this one-of-its-kind cross-platform ‘Video Game Fest’ was to reinstate that gaming as a medium in India has been witnessing a multi-fold growth over the past few years and platforms like this, will give immense thrust to the gaming community in India.”

It was not just a gaming experience. The participants also won prizes worth Rs 10 lakh in multiple competitions including DOTA 2, FIFA 15, Cosplay and other mobile games.
