Study chair in sociologist's name

The Karnataka State Higher Education Council (KSHEC), in association with Oxford University, United Kingdom, will be setting up a study chair in memory of great Indian sociologist, M N Srinivas.

Minister for Higher Education R V Deshpande said here on Wednesday that an expert panel headed by former vice-chancellor Geetha Bali had been constituted to work out the modalities for the proposed study chair. The study chair would focus on studies and research in Sociology and Anthropology, he added.
