The convener of CACL, Bangalore Nagasimha Rao told Deccan Herald that the protest was not only to demand the sacking of the techie but also to raise awareness among corporates to have a binding Child Rights Policy on their employees.

“We demand the sacking of Pallabh Chakraborty by Infosys. Further, employees at big corporates. Further, a large number of cases of domestic violence and torture involve employees at big corporates. This protest is to raise awareness about the importance of a Child Rights policy among corporates,” he said.

The NGOs also protested against the release of Pallabh’s wife Sanchita on bail and distributed material raising awareness about child labour. Meanwhile, the Kolkata chapter of CACL is on a fact finding mission about Durga, who is reportedly an orphan, with a view to rehabilitate her.
