Ban on cow slaughter sought

The Jain Yuva Sangathan on Saturday called on the BJP national president Amit Shah and demanded promulgation of law banning cow slaughter in the country.

A delegation of the Sangathan led by president Ramesh Dhoka and convenor Sajjan Raj Mehta gave a memorandum to Shah asking him to press the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre to pass the bill and bring an end to the miseries of livestock in the country.

They also apprised him of their activities to save cattle in Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka.

Lauding their efforts, Shah assured the delegates that he would convey their demand to the Union government.
