Vishwanath likens Amit Shah to Bhasmasura

Former MP A H Vishwanath has likened BJP president Amit Shah to a Bhasmasura, following the latter’s remarks about “Congress-free Karnataka.”

Replying to questions at a press meet here on Sunday, he said that after the death of former prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, analysts had opined that the days of Congress were numbered.

However, the party grew in subsequent years. It is not possible for Amit Shah to free India from Congress. “Is he a Bhasmasura? He looks like a priest of Maramma temple,” he quipped.

BJP leaders who are daydreaming of wiping out Congress from the country are half- mad and are difficult to handle. While they want Congress out of the country on one hand, they are using the names of Congress leaders, Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to meet political ends, on the other, he said.
