Five persons have been arrested for firing at a youth who asked them to wait for their turn at a snacks shop in west Delhi on Thursday.

The victim is currently in intensive care unit with a bullet in his head, police said on Monday.
The man who allegedly fired at the victim was found to be involved in 30 crimes.

Police have recovered a pistol and two cars the criminals had used to chase Lalit as he fled from the spot on being thrashed.

He and his friend Mohit had ordered food at the shop on the Nangloi-Najafgarh Road.
Meanwhile, accused Sanjay Kumar and his four friends arrived there and demanded that they be served first.

When Lalit objected, he and Mohit were thrashed by them.
The two fled the spot only to be chased by them in a Skoda and Maruti Zen. They were intercepted in no time and thrashed again.

Suddenly, Sanjay, 37, pulled out a pistol and fired thrice at the victims.
As the suspects fled, Lalit was rushed to a hospital by the locals.

Police took Mohit’s statement and registered a case of attempt to murder against the assailants.

He was later referred to MGS Hospital in Punjabi Bagh because of a bullet in the head.
Police said his condition continued to remain critical at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, the five suspects were arrested on Friday following a tip-off.
