Not double trouble but twice blessed

Widely known as Nitz and Bims, the lookalike photographers have achieved recognition in the city’s glamour industry.In the year 2012, Bimlesh Soni and Nitesh Soni, the 19-year old twin brothers from Nagaon (Assam) moved to the Capital after completing high school. Born into a business family, the duo had a keen interest on creative arts. Ditto copy of each other, their striking similarity is what makes them stand out in the crowd, as well as, sometimes, land them in serious trouble caused by confusions.

From the past seven years, the twins have been sharing a common phone, Facebook and other social sites. Even their outfits remain identical making it tough for people to recognise them individually.

Nitesh, younger by two minutes, chuckles while recollecting memories when they were filling up their admission form for graduation in Delhi University. “Our forms were rejected by the university authority as they claimed that the same applicant has filled up two different forms using different names. Then we both had to appear in front of the authorities to clarify and get our admissions cleared,” says Nitish.

After graduating they enrolled themselves for a year-long diploma course at Delhi College of Arts.

They initially started with paintings and followed it up with oil, charcoal and extract art of painting. The duo holds two major exhibitions in the city organised at Lalit Kala Akademi and India Habitat Centre.

On festive occasions the twins prepare a broad rangoli on different subjects. From painting their passion turned to lens craft and photography. They explored the camera and the joy of capturing telling moments from everyday life. Initially, they began with nature photography followed by portrait and finally established themselves as a name in the world of fashion photography.

The duo has to their credit portfolios of many celebrities,  namely Rohit Verma, Rishab Sinha (debutant of Kaanchi movie), Sara Khan, Aly Goni and many other famous personalities from the glamour world. Nitz and Bims have officially photographed MTV’s reality show Splitsvilla 2013, Lakme Fashion Week and India Runway Week 2014 organised by Indian Federation for Fashion Development (IFFD).

Currently working as a freelancer for designer shoots, calendar shoots for modelling, concept wedding shoots; the twins see themselves as cinematographers with an eye for direction in future. Mohit Rana from Mahadeva soap opera called them up after receiving a patch painting of himself in a social networking site. The two have made various documentaries on live events too. Their Facebook official page Nitz Bims (Twins photography) has about 10,000 likes which is increasing by the day.
