Ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit to Delhi to attend the Republic Day Parade, security along the international border with Pakistan has been tightened.

Border Security Force jawans will carry out operation alert exercise from January 15 to 26 and additional security personnel will be deployed along the international border, Ravi Gandhi, Director-General of BSF's Rajasthan Frontier, told reporters today.

"There is dense fog and mist on the international border which is making the job of security personnel more difficult, but BSF will maintain strict vigil on the entire stretch," Gandhi said, adding additional security system will get operational on the border during operation alert exercise.

Jawans have been directed to foil any possible intrusion and undesirable activity forthwith, he said. Patrolling along the border would strictly be kept on high standards with all electronic gadgets.
