<p>Health Minister U T Khader and his family had a nightmarish time recently when miscreants circulated on WhatsApp the photograph of a minor girl in bridal wear and heavy jewellery and said it was taken at the “wedding” of his 14-year-old daughter.<br /><br /></p>.<p> The girl shown in the photo has not been identified. But the message said it was Khader’s daughter, who is in class 7, and the “wedding” had taken place recently, Hidayatullah, the special officer to the minister, stated in a complaint to the Vidhana Soudha police. The message has been posted to “tarnish” the minister’s reputation, <br />he added and demanded action against the miscreants. <br /><br />As soon as the message went viral, the minister and his family received a flood of phone calls over the last four days. Some callers congratulated the family, others complained about not having been invited to the “ceremony”. A few others expressed shock at the “marriage” of the minor girl. The family had a harrowing time answering the phone calls, the police said. The police have registered a case under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and are investigating it. <br /></p>
