Preethiya Theru

Preethiya Theru

Madhumitha and Tanil.

‘Preethiya Theru’ sounds nice. So do a couple of tunes. As for the rest...

Another father indulges his son and the entire family, leaving the viewers to pick up after them. Tanil brings to mind scores of Ramanand Sagar’s actors in the fantasy ‘Alif Laila’. It is better he chooses a different vocation. A little less culpable perhaps is the director who’s out to show who is the Super Man here. He manages to click with two songs at the cost of direction and a cohesive screenplay.

It takes no imagination to figure out the rest. N L Babu’s camera has a mind of its own and sometimes that is good. It is painful to watch the actors’ mouths failing to catch up with the dubbing artistes. And surely Mukhyamantri Chandru didn’t need to be there? Seasoned performers like Dharma clearly are out of place as well.
