Ashakirana School to celebrate silver jubilee

Ashakirana school for visually challenged will celebrate its silver jubilee for three days from February 5. 

Addressing mediapersons in Chikkamagaluru on Monday, school president Krishnegowda said that the state level sports and cultural competitions will be held on the school premises on February 5  from 9.30 am onwards. 

Zilla Panchayat President Bhagya Ranganath will inaugurate. Dharwad district Managundi Gurubasava Mahamane pontiff Basavananda Swamiji will grace the occasion, silver jubilee celebration committee honourary president Gowramma Basavegowda, IDL Foundation, Bengaluru President, Dr P K Pal and others will attend.  

Visually challenged children from various parts of the state will participate in cultural events. A literary session will be held at 6 pm.

The state level sports competition  for visually challenged will be held at centenary ground on February 6 from 9 am onwards. 

At 6 pm, the silver jubilee function will be inaugurated by Member of the Legislative Council Gayatri Shanthe Gowda. Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple Administrator G Bhimsen Joshi and others will participate. A session will be held on ‘the challenges of visually challenged’ on february 7 at 10 am on school premises.
 
Manasagangothri(University of Mysore), Mysuru, Assistant Professor Dr Krishna R Hombal and Bengaluru Law College Assistant Professor Dr N Dasharath will speak.

A procession of National and international sportspersons will be taken out from old taluk office premises at 2.30 pm. The valedictory programme will be held at 4 pm.  
Chairpersons of the legislative council D H Shankaramurthy will inaugurate, Adichunchanagiri mutt seer Dr Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji will inaugurate the new classrooms. 

District in-Charge minister K Abhayachandra Jain will release a souvenir, Member of  the Parliament Shobha Karandlaje will give away the prizes. 

Krishnegowda said that ‘Ashakirana Rajatha Rashmi’ award will be conferred on National Federation of Blind, Bengaluru, Chairman Gautham Agarwal.
