Bescom has closed down its all-time payment (ATPs) counters and asked customers to pay through other cannels such as Electronic Clearing Systems (ECS), web, Bangalore One, post offices and Spot Collection centres.
The post office service will start from Feb 20 and the spot collection which is successfully working in rural areas will start from February 9 on pilot basis in the City.
Bescom had 135 ATPs of which 120 were in Bangalore City. About 30 per cent of the consumers were paying through ATPs. Bescom had outsourced ATPs and Bescom was paying Rs 3.26 per transaction to the agents.
