In a public intertest litigation, N Channaya and 21 others had challenged the permission by DC urban to establish a dumping yard at survey No 179 at Bingipura.
According to the petitioners, the site, being close to village, will lead to pollution of air and water. The petitioners further submitted that the health of several children will be affected here as there are several schools and sought a stay to dumping. The division bench headed by Justice Gopalagowda has ordered status quo.
