As the countdown begins for the Budget, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has got down to do a reality check of the work done by his government in the last eight months. The prime minister has called for a fresh review of the infrastructure sector next Monday (February 9).
The review will focus on the progress towards achievement of targets in sectors such as roads, railways, shipping, and civil aviation. This comes in the backdrop of a large contingent of global investors evincing interest in exploring fresh investment opportunities in India.
In a recent meeting hosted for global fund managers, insurers and heads of financial institutions, PM had said that his government’s resolve to ensure affordable housing for all Indian households by 2022 and upgrading infrastructure present huge opportunity for investors.
