CM-designate invites the common man for his oath-taking event

After the poll win, Arvind Kejriwal has opened the gates of Ramlila Maidan, where he will be sworn-in as the Delhi chief minister on Saturday, to the common man of Delhi.

In an FM radio advertisement, the chief minister-designate has invited the people of Delhi for his oath-taking ceremony at the Ramlila Maidan.

Kejriwal will also invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi and some Union cabinet ministers.
“It is my duty to give you your right. Please come to Ramlila Maidan for the oath-taking ceremony because I am not going to be the chief minister… you all are going to be one. Will you come to Ramlila Maidan?” says Kejriwal in the radio spot released on Tuesday evening.
He adds, “We will take an oath to make Delhi a better place. We will take the oath to bring back happiness of the aam aadmi.”

“Please do come because I am your voice. Jai Hind!” Kejriwal says in his invitation to public.

Mass invitation
“Arvind has invited the entire Delhi as the entire city will be taking oath that day, not just him,” senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia said.

In December 2013, when the AAP leader had first taken oath as the Delhi chief minister, he rode the Delhi Metro for his swearing-in at Ramlila Ground.

But this time, Kejriwal’s mentor and veteran anti-corruption campaigner Anna Hazare has urged him not to repeat “mistake” of going for oath-ceremony on Metro.

His party has decided to also send a formal invitation to Hazare as well as Kiran Bedi.
Just like the last oath-taking ceremony, the winning candidates who will go on to become lawmakers are expected to sit in the general populace instead of the VIP enclosures.
