Veerendra Heggade to preside over Hindu Samajotsava

Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade will preside over the formal function of ‘Hindu Samajotsava,’ which will be organised as a part of golden jubilee celebrations of Vishwa Hindu Parishat at Nehru Maidan in Mangaluru on March 1.

Briefing reporters, during the invitation release programme at ‘Hindu Samajotsava’ in Bunts Hostel, on Friday, Hindu Samajotsava Committee Vice President Jagadish Shenava said Pejavar Mutt Seer Sri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji will grace the occasion. VHP Central Advisory Board Member Sadhwi Balika Saraswati will deliver keynote address.

Around 20 seers including Sri Rajayogi Ramananda Swamiji, Rajashekharananda Swamiji, Sri Charukeerti Bhattaraka Swamiji and Sri Jitakamananda Swamiji will be present.

Vehicle jatha

As a part of the celebrations, VHP, Bajranga Dal and various Hindu organisations will organise vehicle jatha at taluk and city-level. In Mangaluru, jatha will be held on February 20 at 10 am. It will commence from Hindu Samajotsava office and continue through Kadri- Mallikatte- St Agnes Road- Balmatta-Hampankatta-State Bank-Market Road-Car Street- Kudroli temple- Ladyhill- Lalbagh- PVS circle and end in Samajotsava office. More than 2,000 vehicles would participate in the Jatha. Taluk-level jatha will be held at Naguri, Devinagara and Ullal on February 15. In Moodbidri it will be on February 20, he said.

Committee Honorary president S Ganesh Rao said the Hindu Samajotsava will be celebrated within the limits of law and more than 3,000 workers are working day and night for the success of the event. It is a forum to think how India can grow as a superpower in the world once again and time for the introspection. The district administration and police are cooperating with us, he said.

VHP Karnataka South Working president Prof M B Puranik called upon people to participate in Hindu Samajotsava without the barrier of caste, creed or political party. Workers are visiting every house requesting their active participation in the fest. It will be celebrated with harmony and there is no threat for anyone, he said.

Earlier, Rotary Club former district governor Dr B Devdas Rai released the invitation of the event and promised cooperation from the Rotary Club.

Committee president Vijay Vittalnath Shetty, Working president Jagadeep D Suvarna, General Secretary Jithendra Kottary, Honorable Advisor Rajgopal Rai, Vice President Shambu Sharma were present among others.
