Private hospitals do their bit

Ambulances from various private hospitals, including doctors, arrived on the spot to treat patients with minor injuries.

People injured in the early morning accident were rushed to the Narayana Health City, Sparsh Hospital, Oxford Medical College and Anekal Government hospitals that were close by to the accident spot.

“Seven injured persons were brought to the hospital. Two of them are in a critical condition,” said a doctor at Sparsh hospital. Out of the 20 injured, five were women.

Sharmila, 38, who lost her nine-year-old son Aman, was to rushed to Narayana Health City for hip dislocation. “Her condition stabilised after a while. Besides, she suffers from jaundice and this calls for extra care,” said a doctor.

Two other passengers, Vasanta Mani and Selvaraj, were on their way back to Coimbatore after meeting their son Ramesh. While Selvaraj sustained injuries on the spine and neck, Vasanta severely injured her right leg.

Besides Prabhu, Union Minister of Fertilisers and Chemicals Ananth Kumar and Health Minister U T Khader visited patients at the hospitals.
