Tamil Nadu Assembly session took an ugly turn on Thursday, when the enraged Opposition Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) members damaged the Speakers’ podium and attacked the marshalls, following eveiction of one of its member from the house. The DMDK legislators, who also tried to attack Speaker P Dhanapal, were suspended for the rest of the current session.

It all started when DMDK MLA Mohanraj against the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam supremo J Jayalaltiha, which created a furore in the Assembly as the members of treasury bench and DMDK shouted and angrily gesticulated at each other. As the heated arguments continued, the DMDK members trooped into the well of the House and laid siege to the Speaker’s chair and argued with him.
