It feels good to be back in title hunt

Now that the second round of the Hero Indian Open is done and dusted I need to find a bed that is not too soft. I need to take care of the stiff back and sore shoulder that has been bothering me for the last couple of days. I am very happy with the way the physios over here have worked on me in the last 24 hours.

I was a bit concerned this morning at the start, but it eased off as the round progressed.
But obviously, there is some work to be done to keep myself going for the next few days. I am just going to continue the fight.

SSP (Chawrasia) and Siddikur (Rahman) are placed first and second respectively. It reminds me of the battle we fought last time around at the Hero Indian Open at this very venue. I can’t wait for the weekend action to begin. By the way Chawrasia has been bogey free through 36 holes. Simply amazing.

He is at 10-under after 65 and 67, while Siddikur is nine-under and I am at four-under in seventh place.

I am happy I fought back hard after yesterday’s disappointment. I’ve been fighting a very stiff back and sore shoulder and I am going to continue to fight.

On the golf course, it was nice to get my putter hot after not getting it to work on the first day. It is important sometimes to scrape through when you are not at your best.

I had no number in mind when I started this morning. On the 9th it was probably a four-footer, just didn’t hit it hard enough and didn’t expect the grain to catch the ball that much. So it was just a poor putt and resulted in a bogey. But for the rest of the day I putted very well. There were a couple of good breaks that I got today.

Frankly, I didn’t hit the ball that great. I chipped in a couple of times and holed some nice putts. I had chip-ins, not spectacular ones, but useful ones on 10th and 14th from just of the edge.

When someone asked where I would have liked to be after two days, I joked, ‘I would like to be at 12 or 13-under but after yesterday’s round, I will take where ever I am now’. After the first day, now somewhere in the top-10 is okay. I will take that for now.
