He has lost his mental equilibrium: Yeddyurappa

Last Updated 10 January 2010, 19:34 IST

It was for all to see that Deve Gowda, who exhibited his anger and outburst, laced with vollies of cuss words, did not cover himself with glory. On the contrary, Yeddyurappa assumed a calm demeanour. The only strong words that he had for the septuagenarian Janata Dal(S) leader was: “He seems to have become desperate. He has lost his mental equilibrium. I will never be able to use such language as chief minister. I will reply to him at an approrpiate moment.”

Visibly hurt by the names that Deve Gowda called him, Yeddyurappa said he could never imagine that a former prime minister “could stoop to such depths”.
But he seems not to have lost sleep over the unsavoury remarks directed against him in the day.

In the evening, the chief minister, along with two other Cabinet colleagues (Energy Minister K S Eshwarappa, Transport Minister R Ashok) and a few City BJP MLAs watched the Aamir Khan-starrer “3 Idiots” at the PVR. The movie was followed by a sumptuous dinner, also at the PVR, BJP sources said.

State Congress president R V Deshpande termed Deve Gowda’s tirade “unfortunate.”
