“I thought it’s time I took it a little easy. It’s always good to give people a selected dose of films rather than piling up movies one after the other. I want to last long in the industry and don’t want to disappear,” Darshan told Metrolife.

Laying to rest rumours that he will stray into direction, Darshan says, “Why should there be two directors in the family? My brother is a director. He will direct and I will act. I am content with that,” he says.

Known for his action and stunt sequences, Darshan will be seen in Porkhi and later in Shouryam which he says is an out an out commercial film. In Parathy he plays an auto driver.

Darshan, who has played just about every role, has offers coming in from other language industries.

“I’d rather be a king here than a slave elsewhere. The respect and love I get from people here is incomparable,” Darshan says.
