Karnataka Rajya Nayakara Yuva Sene president Devaraj T Katur on Saturday demanded deputy chief minister’s post to Small Scale Industries Minister Sathish Jarkiholi.

Addressing the media here, Katur said that the Congress led State government had ignored the Nayaka community by giving representation to one legislator in the cabinet, while the previous BJP government had feted three legislators with cabinet berths. While Scheduled Caste candidates have been undergoing free training for KAS exams for the year 2014-15, the Scheduled Tribe candidates were yet to avail the benefit, which was announced earlier.  The ST farmers who were earlier getting the benefit of sowing seeds and manure under special cell plan and tribal sub-plan, have been deprived of the same. The government has withdrawn the benefit, and has been utilising the same for other departments, he said. “ST students pursuing PG courses too have been meted with injustice, as the additional canteen allowance is not being distributed in an uniform manner,” he added.
