A matter of honour

A play, ‘Maryade Prashne’, will be held on March 20, 7.30 pm and 21, 3. 30 pm at Ranga Shankara, in association with Goethe Institut.

It revolves around four youngsters talking a jolly road trip but one that meets a tragic end.

Throughout the journey, the four are entangled in the complex web of love, betrayal and rage.

The youngsters are from different economic and social backgrounds who take a jolly trip to Mysuru.

It delves into reality theatre by traversing through their distinct lives and personalities and questions the society’s stereotypes and other delicate issues like gender-politics and money-power.

The play is written and directed by S Surendrana with Naveen, Shrunga, Ujwala, Varsha, and Sandeep as the cast.

‘Maryade Prashne’ is an adaptation from the German play, ‘Respect’, by Lutz Huebner, which deals with the concerns of the youth and their unmindful rage.

 The 90-minute play makes different observations of the matter of honour which is central to each character.
