A 15-year-old girl, in connivance with her minor boyfriend and his four friends, killed her former lover, a 16-year-old boy, in north Delhi’s Burari on Saturday.

All the suspects were nabbed after the victim narrated the entire incident to police before breathing his last.

The girl had an affair with victim, Kamal, for almost a year before deserting him and drifting towards the 17-year-old boy in Jahangirpuri.

This did not go down well with her former-lover who had allegedly insulted the girl and even beat up her new boyfriend. Police said the new couple could not stand the insult and together they plotted to avenge it.

Kamal did odd jobs and lived with his family in the same area. “The girl also wanted to prove her loyalty towards her new boyfriend due to which she had planned to eliminate Kamal with him. They also involved four friends to ensure that Kamal did not escape,” a police officer told Deccan Herald.

On Saturday evening, the girl called Kamal over phone and asked him to meet her near a traffic signal in Burari to patch up. The new couple and their friends waited for his arrival with knives at a lonely stretch near the spot.

As soon as he reached at about 5:30 pm, he was repeatedly stabbed and left to die. “The injured boy was found crying out for help by a passerby, Yash Kumar, who informed police and rushed him to hospital. The victim narrated the entire incident to Yash on the way to hospital,” the officer said.

Police were able to take down his statement before he breathed his last. A case of murder was registered.

Raids were then conducted at the suspects’ homes and all the six were nabbed.
Govinda, Naveen, Gautam and Kesto– all in their early 20s, were sent to Tihar Jail while the two minors were sent to juvenile homes.

Police said the accused had assumed Kamal to be dead after the repeated stabbings.
The girl was orphaned at an early age and had been living with her maternal grandparents in Jahangirpuri. The old couple are labourers.
