JOIN USWoes of final year students who have taken up Sociology, History or Kannada (optional), as one of the subjects under BA programme of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), is likely to continue at least till the end of this month.
Despite the semester starting in the month of March, students are yet to receive the study material. It can be recalled that KSOU had postponed the examination of undergraduate courses to the first week of June, owing to the delay.
During a visit to the Lessons Section of the varsity by Deccan Herald, it was informed that the study material for the subjects would be available only during the last week of March.
As per the earlier schedule of KSOU, students had to submit assignments on the subjects by March 31, which too was revised.
The varsity authorities, it can be recalled had earlier blamed the ongoing probe by Justice Bhaktavatsala, regarding irregularities at KSOU, for the delay in dispatching study material. However, in February, KSOU had assured that the material would be distributed by the end of the month.

When contacted, M G Krishnan, Vice Chancellor of the varsity said that orders had been placed in differenting printing presses for the materials. “We should be able to get the material within four to five days, after which it will be distributed to students,” he said.
