Down the corridors of nostalgia

Last Updated 17 March 2015, 15:08 IST

It was a walk down memory lane for the students, teachers and alumni of MS Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce as the college organised the 23rd alumni meet recently. It was graced by more than 250 alumni and their family members.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr A Nagarathna, principal, praised the achievements of the alumni of MSRCASC in all spheres of life.

She felt that it was a matter of great pride for the college that its students are holding positions of responsibility in their own businesses, government organisations, private sector and academic institutions.

The inaugural session was followed by a cultural programme with the students and alumni presenting traditional and contemporary dances. Great bonhomie was observed everywhere with old students reliving their memories with their batchmates, seniors, juniors and teachers. Many of the current students were also seen interacting with their seniors and learning from their experiences. The ambience was electric with people chatting, dancing  and clicking selfies.

An alumni association called ‘ALUMNUS’ was formed and the office bearers informed that a scholarship to all needy students will be provided henceforth. Said Neeraj, from the BBM batch of 2010, “It was a happy occasion where I got to meet all my friends and remember our college memories.”
For Rashmi Singh, a student of 2011 batch, the alumni meet was a “great experience”. “My teachers showered us with the same kind of affection and we enjoyed the performances put up by our juniors,” she said.

“It was a reunion that I was waiting for. We relived all the sweet memories of our college days. I am happy to be working as an assistant professor in my own college,” said Supriya P, a student of 2008 batch.
