Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday said that the State government has taken steps to fill the 9,289 vacant posts in Bruhat Bangalore Mahangara Palike (BBMP).
In a written reply to M Srinivas, JD (S), in the Legislative Council, the chief minister said that the government is considering direct recruitment.
On a question regarding the number of approved posts in BBMP, he said that 19,223 are approved, of which, 10, 492 are existing employees.
Siddaramaiah added that 9,934 are permanent staff and 558 are on deputation from other departments.
