<p>Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday said that the State government has taken steps to fill the 9,289 vacant posts in Bruhat Bangalore Mahangara Palike (BBMP).<br /><br /></p>.<p>In a written reply to M Srinivas, JD (S), in the Legislative Council, the chief minister said that the government is considering direct recruitment. <br /><br />On a question regarding the number of approved posts in BBMP, he said that 19,223 are approved, of which, 10, 492 are existing employees. <br /><br />Siddaramaiah added that 9,934 are permanent staff and 558 are on deputation from other departments. <br /><br /></p>
