Sending across a strong message to all the women who look up to the government and society for their safety, a 20-year old Mass Media student dragged her molester by hair and handed him over to the railway police in Mumbai yesterday, reported Mid-Day.com.

Pradnya Mandhare, a third year student of Mass Media at Sathaye College in Vile Parle, was waiting at the Kandivli station to board a train to Borivli at around 2:30 pm.

Soon, a drug addict walked up to her and tried to touch her in an inappropriate way.

At first, she was shocked. But soon, she mustered courage and confronted her molester.
The molester tried to grab her and hit her, but she didn't give up.

She thrashed him using her bag, grabbed his hair and dragged him to the Government Railway Police (GRP) station.

“Most women are scared of approaching the police as filing a complaint is a lengthy process. But, I was firm on taking that man to the police,” she said.

The young fighter also revealed that there were scores of people at the platform who were merely watching the entire incident, but no one stepped forward to help her.
"People stopped to stare, but no one bothered to even ask what was going on," Pradnya told Mid-Day.

A brave 20-year-old Pradnya Mandhare urges women to be strong enough to protect themselves and report to police when such incidents take place.

“Every woman should fight back in such cases and they should not keep quiet. Women are not objects for anyone to touch at will,” she said.
