Within three days of its launch, an online petition seeking a CBI probe into IAS officer D K Ravi's death has received unprecedented response with more than 2.6 lakh signatories by Friday night.

The petition floated by Uttishta Bhartha on change.org is addressed to the prime minister seeking justice for the deceased officer.

The organisation, Uttishta Bhartha, is also organising a silent protest march on Sunday to garner more support for the cause, from Freedom Park to Raj Bhavan.

Angry responses
Several signatories have also given reasons for signing the petition expressing their angst. One of the signatories, Dheeraj Desai, wrote: “The circumstances surrounding his death are suspicious and I don't have enough trust in the current government that it would solve this case.”

Goonda culture
Another angry signatory from the City, Nalin Gupta, wrote: “Is our India independent? We are just let to breathe enough to live scared and frightened not only from mafia but Goonda Raaz too. And if someone dares to correct thing, has to meet such fate. Feeling very sorry for state of our nation (sic).”
