Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said that there were attempts being made by a few to remove him from his  post.

Speaking on the sidelines of Dr Rammanohar Lohia award distribution ceremony on the premises of the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat in the City, Siddaramaiah said, “A section of people are unable to digest the fact that I am occupying the post of chief minister. However, I will complete my term and will not allow them to succeed in their attempts. I was thinking not to contest the next Assembly election. However, now I have decided to contest."

“The opposition parties have said that they will make Karnataka free from Congress. But I will contest the next elections and lead the party. I will ensure that our party comes to power,” he said. Assembly Speaker, Kagodu Thimmappa, who was felicitated by the chief minister with the award, said: “Siddaramaiah should have become chief minister long time ago. But due to political conspiracies, he could not. Efforts are being made to remove him from the post”.
