607 write Masti residential school entrance exam

The standard 6 entrance examinations for the Masti Residential School in Malur’s Masti village was conducted in eight centres on Sunday.

The school built in memory of the Jnanapith awardee Masti Venkatesha Iyengar is a sought after institution, as about 607 students appeared for the entrance test. There are only 50 seats available and 25 of those are reserved for students from Kolar district. About 881 students had registered for the exam and 607 of them wrote the entrance exam on Sunday.

The entrance exam was conducted in eight centres – Government Degree College, Kolar; Infant Jesus School, Bangarpet; Sumathi Jain School, KGF; Government Pre-University College, Mulabagal; Government Degree College, Masti; Girls’s Pre-University College, Malur and the SFS School, Srinivasapur.

The Kolar Block Education Officer and Residential School Nodal Officer A N Nagendrappa, Chief Educator D V Ramachandrappa and Ramanappa were appointed as in-charge of the examination.

District Physical Education Officer Basavaraj Chilakantha Mutt, Subject teachers Venkata-swamy, C R Ashok, Babu Janardhananaidu, Rajanna, Mallikarjunachari and Shivamadya acted as invigilators.
