22-year-old journalist found hanging in house

A 22-year-old journalist hanged himself at his house in the town on Sunday night.
According to the police, Jabeeullah worked as a reporter for a daily, Rajadharma, and a news channel, My Dreams, for the last three years.

On Sunday night, he returned home around 11.30 pm. On his way into the house he picked up a saree his mother had washed from the clothesline and hung himself in his bedroom, said the police.

Moments before taking the drastic step, Jabeeullah had sent his friends a text message saying that they would no longer get to meet him.

His worried friends rushed to his house and inquired with his mother. But his mother had not seen him come home. When they noticed his footwear outside the door they went into his room and found his body hanging. They took him to the hospital but to no avail, said the police.

About a month ago, two bike borne masked men had attacked the reporter with blades.

A complaint was registered in this regard with Inspector C Vasanth. The police had also visited the spot for investigation.

Jabeeullah’s father too was a journalist and had died seven years ago.
