After the fuselage of the Dornier aircraft was found near the spot where the plane was last seen, an extensive under water search was carried out leading to the recovery of her body, which has been taken to Goa, a Navy spokesperson has confirmed. The third officer is still missing. A team of experienced divers on board INS Matanga carried out extensive diving operations to salvage the broken tail of the aircraft, which was first spotted by the side scan sonar of INS Makar at a depth of about 50 metre and later positively identified by a remotely operated underwater vehicle and the divers.
