19,372 students to write SSLC exams from March 30

All preparations have been done for the SSLC examinations scheduled to begin on March 30, said the Public Education Department Deputy Director T Ashwatthareddy.

About 19,372 students are registered to attend the examinations that will continue till April 19, from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, he said.

The examinations will be conducted in 77 centres across the district and for the first time about 17,894 candidates will write the exam. In addition to this are the 403 private candidates and the 1,075 candidates who are re-attempting the exams this year, he said.

Of the total candidates registered for the exams are 10,371 boys and 9001 girls. In a taluk-wise breakdown of candidates, 2,732 are from Bagepalli, 3,629 from Chikkaballapur, 4,426 from Chintamani, 4,752 from Gouribidanur, 966 from Gudibande and 2,867 from Shidlaghatta, he said.

There are 9 exam centres in  Bagepalli, 16 each in Chikkaballapur and Chintamani, 18 in Gouribidanur, 4 each in Gudibande and Shidlaghatta. A total of 154 members comprise the vigilance squad. There is no entry into the exam centre premises and tight police security has been arranged for, he said.
