Two educative and fun-filled workshops were held for comic enthusiasts in the City recently. The sessions included ‘manga-art’ and ‘cosplay’ and were conducted by artist Gowra Hari and organised by Comic Con India.

Conducted in Extreme Sports Bar, Kammanahalli, the manga-art workshops was on learning on how to draw and appreciate the black and white sketches. The sessions also served as an introduction to ‘Ka-Kaa: The Shaman Trials’, the first Indian manga graphic novel. Gowra taught enthusiastic audiences about the details of manga art. “It’s a surreal and fun experience to interact with many manga-art enthusiasts. We would like to encourage more events like these,” said Gowra and Ananth Maruthi, creator of ‘Ka-Kaa: The Shaman Trials’.

The cosplay workshop conducted at Coffee On Canvas, Koramangala, was for those who wished to experience cosplay for the first time. The objective of the session was to familiarize enthusiasts on how and where to obtain costumes, props and wigs, with the guidance of several experienced cosplayers who had participated in previous cosplay events.

Nikhil, a student, who participated in cosplay workshop, said, “It was an educative and helpful workshop. We learnt how to make our costume and apply our make-up. All our questions were answered.” Bangalore Comic Con 2015 will be held from April 3 to 5.
