A 28-year-old man working for an electronics service centre in west Delhi was allegedly stabbed by his employer for repeatedly demanding his pending salary.

Police have recovered the knife used in the crime while his suspect continues to remain on the run following the incident that took place in Dwarka’s sector 23 on Monday. The victim’s condition is stated to be stable.

Victim Ashish Kumar worked as a service engineer with Sai Refrigeration service centre in Dwarka. He lives with his family in Uttam Nagar. He told police that he had not been given his salary for the last seven days over which he had been pestering his employer Harbans.
There had been frequent face-offs between them, but on Monday Harbans asked Ashish to meet him at the service centre in the evening to collect his dues.

“I reached the service centre in the evening, but the shop had already been shut by then. I called Harbans over the phone and he told me he would visit my home and personally hand over the money to me,” the victim told police.

Harbans reached home and asked Ashish to accompany him on his motorcycle to the service centre on the pretext of handing over the cash.

Midway, Harbans stopped the motorcycle and began daring Ashish to demand his dues, the victim alleged. As soon as Ashish reiterated his demand, the accused allegedly pulled out a knife from underneath his clothes and stabbed Ashish in the abdomen.

Ashish told police that he managed to push Harbans away and shouted out for help which forced the suspect to flee from the spot, leaving his motorcycle and mobile phone behind. There was no one, however, to help Ashish and he was forced to call police for help.

The victim was rushed to Artemis Hospital in the area from where he was shifted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital. He is said to be out of danger. Police have recovered the knife, and the motorcycle on which they were travelling.
