JOIN USAround 8.30 am, some passers-by informed the Commercial Street police about the discarded safe locker near gate 10 of the stadium. The police immediately rushed to the spot, brought the locker to the station and informed the City police control room.
Later, the locker was broke open and it was traced to a cellphone shop in 9th main, Jayanagar 4th block, which was burgled on Saturday night. The miscreants had made away with the locker, containing Rs 35,000 cash, four laptops and several cellphones, valued at Rs 6 lakh. An address slip found inside the locker helped in tracing the shop belonging to one Sumanth of Banashankari, the police said.
The burglars had discarded the locker after decamping with the cash. A complaint was filed at the Jayanagar police station after the burglary came to light when the shop was opened at 10:30 am.
