Twenty-four hours after he fell into an open 30-feet borewell, 18-month-old toddler Mallesh was brought out dead on Monday evening.

Dharavat Mallesh accidentally fell in to the open borewell   on Sunday which was defunct.

A ten-member rescue team aided by fire rescue services and mining experts from Singareni Collieries worked round-the-clock, digging a parallel 30-ft pit near the borewell.

They sent in oxygen into the borewell but all efforts failed as when they managed to reach Mallesh, he was dead by then.

The incident took place in Chandrutanda, a tribal hamlet of Polepalli village in Warangal district, about 80 km from here.
