JOIN USAn elderly person was killed on the spot after an unknown vehicle mowed him down in Vijayanagar on Wednesday night. The victim has been identified as M S Nataraj.
The accident occurred near the pedestrian sub-way on West of Chord Road. The driver of an unknown speeding vehicle lost balance and mowed down Nagaraj who was crossing the road. The vehicle was moving from Vijayangar water tank junction to Marenalli junction when the accident occurred.
A few passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. “We are collecting CCTV footage from the area to ascertain identity of the vehicle and the driver,” said a police officer.
Night walker robbed
An unidentified youth, who was wearing a helmet, attacked a man and robbed his expensive mobile phone handset in Sadashivanagar police limits on Wednesday night. The robbery took place when the victim Sumith Gridonia, a resident of New BEL Road, was on late night walk after dinner.
The suspect stopped his bike and approached Gridonia walking on MSR Ground Lane. The youth pushed down Gridonia, snatched his mobile phone and fled.
