Namita Mishra had assiduously worked towards starting her own restaurant and her efforts bore fruit with her opening ‘Fish and Fries’ in HSR Layout, a couple of years ago. The restaurant serves exotic varieties of fish.

“These dishes may be available in one form or the other anywhere in the City, but I am pretty sure the real taste is not there. The fish is sourced from here and the ingredients are specially sourced and ground. Fish is always bought fresh and then cooked. It is never stored for a long time,” says Namita.

The eatery is packed with customers for lunch and dinner, thanks to the companies located in the vicinity. There are also families that have become regular customers here.

The ambience and warmth have people coming back for more. Among the signature dishes at the restaurant are ‘Paprika’, ‘Grilled Pomfret’, ‘herb crusted and beer battered’ fish, where beer is used for the batter.

“In fact, the restaurant is named after our signature dish ‘Fish and Fries’ which is a platter that comes with battered fish fry accompanied with french fries, garlic bread, salad and tartar sauce,” explains Namita.

The eatery also has another exclusive dish called ‘Fish Popcorn.’ You also get to choose your choice of bread to go along with every dish.

Talking more about the menu, Namita explains that she has taken time to choose and develop each dish.

“Most of the dishes are made from the sauces developed by our chef. The fish is selected from the market by us. We believe in the traditional way of cooking and consuming fresh food. Nothing is pre-cooked, stocked or reused,” Namita signs off.
