The Anti Land-Grabbing Action Committee on Friday demanded the government to take immediate action against land-grabbers besides time-bound action plan on clearing and recovering encroachments on government lands across the State.
Committee Convenor A T Ramaswamy and other members who met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah submitted a memorandum to him.
They also demanded criminal proceedings against the chief secretaries and other officers who failed to act as per the directives of the High Court with regard to clearing encroachment of lakes.
Stating that land grabbing was allowed even after the report of the joint legislature committee report was made public, the Committee said that a list of officials who have allowed this to happen, should be prepared, and FIRs should be filed against them.
