Two killed in wall collapse during rain

Two persons were killed in Devalapura village of Mysuru taluk on Monday as a wall collapsed over them, following showers accompanied by heavy winds.

The deceased are Ravi (35) and Siddaraju (55). Another person, Mahadeva, was injured and is being treated at the hospital. The incident occurred near a poultry farm on the outskirts of the city, where the three had taken shelter near the wall during the rainfall. A case has been registered.

Pre-monsoon showers continued in parts of south interior Karnataka, with widespread rainfall reported in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts.

In Shivamogga
Moderate-to-heavy rain accompanied by thunder, lightning and strong wind lashed several parts of the district on Monday evening.

Shivamogga, Thirthahalli, Hosanagar, Bhadravathi, some parts of Sagar, Shikaripur and Sorab received rain. Several roads in Shivamogga city were waterlogged due to the rain that lasted for nearly an hour.

Houses located in low-lying areas were waterlogged. The situation was similar in Thirthahalli. Other parts of the district received moderate rain.
