A pat on the back for women entrepreneurs

Women entrepreneurs are creating a mark in business world. To promote and encourage the women entrepreneurs The Federation of Indian Women Entrepreneurs (FIWE) in collaboration with Indo-African-Arab Women Chamber of Commerce (IAAWCC) organised the 5th International Women Entrepreneurs Summit and Exhibition over the week in the city.

The idea behind the summit was to enable global opportunities for women entrepreneurs and facilitate an effective socio-economic development. Focusing on the “Make in India”, as the main goal of FIWE is to attract investors from Arab countries through women entrepreneurs.

The three day event, from May 7- 9, was inaugurated by Union Minister for Minority, Najma Heptulla.“The summit also included a host of knowledge and technical sessions on skill development and digitisation to apprise women entrepreneurs with the latest technologies, innovations as well as government’s initiatives to help them gain expertise and growth.” The summit had various national and international speakers sharing knowledge about the trade and investment scenario and opportunities for women entrepreneurs, latest skills, technologies and ideas in product development and marketing was displayed”, Poonam Kumar of FIWE said.

Priyadarshani Awards for business excellence for women entrepreneurs were given to encourage the entrepreneurs, during the event. To strengthen brand Make in India FIWE- Latent Talent, an exhibition to showcase the talents and innovative ideas of women entrepreneurs was also organised.

More than 100 participants from Arab World, African and SAARC countries participated in the event to explore business opportunities with their Indian counterparts. ‘The Summit witnessed large number of delegations from Bahrain, Kuwait, Sudan and also delegations from Bangladesh, Nepal, Kenya, Pakistan, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Harare, Uganda and Zimbabwe’, Rajni Aggarwal, President – FIWE. The Federation of Indian women Entrepreneurs is helping women to grow to next level of competence and growth.
