JOIN USA 27-year-old pregnant woman was manhandled by a house owner after she parked her car in front of his house near Begur Road in Madiwala on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said quoting the complainant, the victim, who did not want to be named, parked her car in front of a house, as she wanted to buy some grocery items. The owner of the house came out and started verbally abusing the victim. Both engaged in a heated argument and a few people came in support of the landlord. They pushed the woman into a corner and threatened her not come back to the area again.
When the police rushed to the spot, a group of people who had gathered there tried to downplay the incident. But the victim insisted on registering a complaint, added the police.
A senior police officer said: “A complaint was registered and both the versions are being noted down and investigated. The names of the victim and the landlord cannot be revealed as there are different versions being heard.”
A case has been registered in Madiwala police station.
