Traffic do's and don'ts on elevated road

Since traffic will move in two lanes in each direction on the elevated road, there will be no scope for overspeeding and overtaking. Though the upper speed limit will be 80 km per hour, motorists should drive safely and slowly in order to avoid untoward accidents.
Moreover, vehicles should not be unnecessarily stopped on the elevated road as it may lead to congestion.

There will be no scope for changing lanes except at the point of coming down at the Electronics City. Fast-moving cars should strictly restrict themselves to the right lane near the median, whereas slow-moving heavy vehicles and two-wheelers should remain on the outer lane.

Surveillance cameras have been installed on the elevated road which will monitor commuters and traffic violators. Variable message signs displaying messages consisting of letters and symbols have also been put at the spot. These will also provide real-time information on traffic situation in order to improve operations and reduce accidents.
Besides, these will help motorists in changing travel speed, lanes and routes.

Commuters should be patient beyond Silk Board as traffic will move much slower due to the additional pressure created because of the fast movement on the elevated road, says the advisory.
