350 vacant posts in Animal Husbandry Dept to be filled

The Law department has given its consent to fill up 350 of the 700 vacant posts in the Animal Husbandry department and the Veterinary colleges in the State.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru on Friday, Law minister T B Jayachandra, who also holds veterinary portfolio, said the posts have been lying vacant for a long time and as there was an urgency to fill up the same, the process was being expedited. In addition to the 350 posts, 100 backlog posts too will be filled, he said, adding that the notification for the same had been issued and sent for Cabinet approval.

He also said many teaching and non-teaching posts were vacant in the Veterinary College in Bidar and that process to fill up these vacancies too has been expedited. As many as 99 posts of assistant professors, 76 associate professors, 46 professors will be filled up. The recruitment process of 252 teaching staff has also been initiated.
