The SJ Park police have arrested five persons for carrying Rs 32 lakh unaccounted cash in NR Road on Monday night.
According to police, the arrested have been identified as Shekar, Govindraju, Lokesh, Shivaguru and Chandru, all native of Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu. Around 11 pm, the night patrol police noticed the five persons moving suspiciously in a car on NR Road. They stopped them for questioning.
On checking the car they found Rs 32 lakh cash. When the occupants of the car did not produce necessary re-cords for the cash, they were taken to the police station, police said. The police suspect hawala angles to the case.
