Name cops involved in lottery scam, says HDK

JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy has attacked the government for withholding the names of police officers who have come under the radar for their reported involvement in the single-digit lottery scam.

Kumaraswamy who aired his views on @CMofKarataka and @thekjgeorge Twitter handles, wondered why the government, which had disclosed the details of late IAS officer D K Ravi’s case within hours of his death, had failed to name the “beneficiaries” of the lottery scam. The CID probe is on into the scam.

“Why hasn’t the government suspended the ADGP&IGP involved in the mutli-crore single-digit lottery scam? Officials involved in the scam should be suspended instead of being sent on leave,” his tweets read.

Kumaraswamy had recently attacked both chief minister and the Home minister for not addressing the illegality, and had even hinted at their involvement in it. He had dared the government to order a CBI probe into the matter, as opposed to a CID inquiry. Kumaraswamy had also revealed the name of IPS officer B A Padmanayana, who was transferred from Excise and Lottery Prohibition Cell.
