<p>A four-year-old girl was allegedly molested by an aged watchman at a summer camp here.<br /><br /></p>.<p>"The mother of the girl alleged that her daughter was molested by the 65-year-old watchman at Monkey Maze summer camp," Jeevan Bima Nagar Inspector Hitendra told PTI here.<br /><br />However, the girl's parents did not lodge a complaint with the police despite of being requested to do so, he said.<br /><br />The incident took place on May 14 and the parents approached police on May 21 on noticing a change in the girl's behaviour, he said.<br /><br />Hitendra said a teacher at the camp had requested the watchman to take the girl to the toilet, however, the man allegedly molested her there.<br /><br />To a question on whether police could take sou motu cognisance of the crime, Hitendra said they could not do so unless they were provided with evidence.<br /><br />"If the parents just produce a medical document...based on that itself we can initiate action."<br /><br />The girl's mother has also posted the incident on her Facebook page.<br /><br />"Please read if you have a child ... This betrayal was to a child. This child I trusted to a summer camp. I expected her to be treated kindly... I knew she would be safe and I hoped she would have fun..." <br /><br /></p>
